Face of The Day: Sunrise Eyes and Orange Lips

So for today's makeup I really wanted to try out my new Revlon Colorstay foundation and Glamoflauge concealer. I paired that with some Pinks and Golds from the Urban Decay Deluxe Palette and added a nice orange lipstick.

Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat Nail Polish in Fuzz-Sea

Fuzzy nail polish? Sounds good. I always like things that make my nails look fancy with minimal effort because I'm just not very good at nail art (I'm looking at you polish gradients). I found this in the Target makeup clearance section so that pretty much solidified the purchase.
And my conclusion? It's interesting. I tried applying it to a bare nail and I had to get 3 coats before it looked even remotely covered. And because of the formula, it's kind of hard to apply. All of the little fuzzies want to go to one side of my nail so it ends up being really hard to get it even.

Haul: Sunscreen, It's a 10, Glamoflauge and Revlon.

So I did a little bit of internet shopping this week. I have heard so many people talk about the Miracle Leave In by It's a 10, that I had to try it out. I'm pretty skeptical about any product that claims to be a "miracle", but I keep seeing it in youtube videos and blogs so I bought a bottle. And I also purchased some things from the Walmart website. I really like ordering from there because the prices are lower than drugstores near me and they ship things pretty quickly. However, real Walmart stores tend to be about as pleasant as crowded buses where one creepy guy is staring at you far too often.

Friday Roundup: Makeup, Samples and My Week

So I have decided that every friday I'm going to do a sort of roundup post of how my week went. I'm thinking it will be makeup that I wore, samples I received, makeup I bought that's not quite a haul, and just little tidbits from my life. So if that's something that interests you, definitely keep a look out for these posts. And I will try to have a tag up at the top too.
This picture is of a sea anemone that I always like to say hello to when I go to my biology study group. He sits in this really colorful tank and when it's clean, the colours cheer me up.

Review: Sigma Brushes, F82, E25, E45, E55

I purchased my first Sigma brush in June, and have since then bought 3 more because I liked it so much. And after using them for the last couple of months, I feel like I can write a review as to how fabulous they are.
Sigma brushes are relatively hard to find because they are only sold online on the Sigma website. But their website does ship internationally. You can also purchase them on Amazon (as I do) for slightly more per brush but free shipping if you have Amazon prime.
Despite the fact that these brushes are not available in stores, they seem to be really popular. A lot of people say that they are an inexpensive version of MAC brushes. I don't own that many MAC brushes (or brushes in general) so I can't compare, but by themselves, Sigma brushes are some really awesome products.

Fashion Finds: Fun Thrifted Sweaters for Fall

In the fall, all I ever seem to want to wear are leggings and large sweaters. But at least I'm not wearing North Face jackets, right, RIGHT? Either way, when it's 8 am and 30 degrees outside (like today, eek), I just can't be bothered to get dressed in something that is not cozy and warm. So I have started a fabulous sweater collection. Most of mine are from thrift shops (sequined 80's sweaters are the best), but I also like to have a couple ones in basic colours that are very good quality and warm.

Review: The Balm's Mary-Lou Manizer

I had heard really good things about the Mary-Lou Manizer so when it went on sale on HauteLook I decided to get it. As described on the packaging, it can also be used as an eyeshadow and shimmer. As it turns out, I like the product more as an eyeshadow than a highlighter, but it works very well as both. And it looks very nice on pale skin. But it's easy to go overboard and end up being a little too sparkly vampire instead of glowing goddess.

Face of the Day: Pinks and Corals

Today was the first day that I ventured outside all weekend (hello biology midterms), and I decided to celebrate the fresh air with some pink/orange eyeshadow and a coral lip. I've been wearing mostly eyeshadows without liquid liner recently, which for me is completely different, but I feel like I want to expand my eye looks. I've also been wearing lots and lots of mascara to make my sad short lashes looks as long as possible. And my pink Korres blush that I recently bought is amazing. ~ Dat pigmentation~

Review: The Balm Balm Shelter Tinted Moisturizer in Lighter than Light

I've been using a lot of BB creams for my skin makeup recently, but there was a The Balm event on HauteLook and I decided to try their tinted moisturizer. Mostly because the "lighter than light" shade looked, well, light enough for me. Overall, it's not something that I would ever repurchase, but that might because I don't like tinted moisturizers, rather than there being anything wrong with the product.

Friday Fun

I don't have my camera cord at the moment, so that is keeping me from updating with an in depth post. But fear not, I have a bunch of little miscellaneous things I have wanted to share for a while. The first is my week in instagram pictures. It's finally getting chilly outside, which is the perfect weather for tea. I found some pumpkin spice roobios that I'm really loving. Then, I made the decision to draw more this semester and overall. I don't want to lose the minimal skills I learned in high school. The ring was one sale for 50 cents at H&M, and it cheers me up when I wear it to my 9 am classes. And lastly, I've finally been seeing changes to my body from working out everyday and I feel good about that :)

Thrifting and DIY: My Room :)

So, I have not been reviewing a lot of beauty items lately because I've been getting my DIY on. I never really decorated my room since I moved into my house, and it was bothering me, so come see what I came up with.
